Poetry & Consciousness

For this class we will workshop our own poems closely, while weaving in writing prompts and discussion of craft based around consciousness and lyricism. This is a workshop geared towards getting students into a generative flow-state of creativity, while inviting them to get curious about their whole approach to reading and writing. We’ll discuss the ways in which we thwart ourselves with our own habitual practices, and find a way to release ourselves from them, while getting inspiration for whatever project we’re in the midst of–or hope to be.
